A Very Good Day
…it’s a dog’s life
This is J. Dudley. My he-human took me to my favorite dog park in Spirit Lake, and the moment he turned down the gravel road—and I realized where we were—I was bursting with excitement.
“Rrrraaaaaraaah, rrrraaaraaah, RRRRAAAARRRAAAAH!”
My he-human was very proud of me.
I marched into the BIG DOG side of the park and stood up to three humongous canines who, in years past, would have left me cowering and hugging the dirt in submission.
Not today, I told them. I have just as much of a right to be here as you do.
And then we ran. Ran, ran, ran, ran—chasing each other all around the BIG DOG side of the park.
I got joyfully muddy, and my he-human called my she-human to warn her that my incoming entrance to our home might be… messy.
I came roaring into Dudley’s house, telling her all about what a GREAT time I had and how I chased the BIG DOGS all over the place.
She scooped me up into her arms, took me into the bathroom, and I marched right into the tub.
She says I am a very good dog about taking baths, so there’s that.
When I got out of the tub, she tried to dry me off, but I could not wait to zip around the house and rub my clean self all over the furniture, the rugs, and any people along the way.
Below are pictures of me post-tub. That is the look of total self-satisfaction that comes from having a very good day.

Dudley, there is no dog anywhere in the world who could write like you do. You are just THE BEST! Glad you had such a glorious time at your park.
Adorable! Post-bath zoomies are the best!
